Scorpion Enters DARPA Grand Challenge

Team Cart
The Scorpion has been around for some time, but it is currently being manufactured and promoted through Preferred Chassis Fabrication, out of Tucson AZ.

These vehicles have adjustable height suspension, and Cummins diesel engine.

While the vehicle itself is more than interesting, it is their involvement in the DARPA Challenge that is really notable. Bluefield State College's Center for Applied Research & Technology (CART) will be using the MKIV for their vehicle platform to enter the event.

Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is a military research and development organization that has promoted the "grand challenge" for accelerated development of an autonomous ground vehicle (no human driver or occupants).

This is leading edge research, and will shape the way ground assaults are led in the future.
